High School Football: Top Single Game Performances of 2022 Season

The 2022 high school football season produced some of the top single game performances in high school football history, including state records in Georgia, Oregon, Maine, Ohio, Colorado, New Jersey and Alabama.

And while Ethen Knox of Oil City (Pa.) garnered headlines with his ability to carry the rock and churn out yards, it was Jayden Mason of Calvary Christian (Columbus, Ga.) who actually crushed his state record for rushing attempts with 61. Mason's effort topped the old mark by seven carries.

Knox appears on the list with 54 and 53 carries, respectively, in addition to being a regular focus of MaxPreps weekly Stat Freaks.

Four players — Justin Klotz in New Jersey, Cade Dixon in Maine, Lexton Grafke in Kansas and Randell Johnson in Alabama — caught six touchdown passes, tying state records in their respective states.

A pair of quarterbacks set state record for touchdown passes. Rocco McClave of Crescent Valley (Ore.) set state records for passing yardage and touchdown passes while Vinny Ballone of Lowellville tied the state record for touchdown passes in Ohio.

Following are the top 10 single-game performances in various statistical categories based on stats reported to MaxPreps. Some categories were cut short due to the high number of players who had achieved the next lowest statistical number.
